π Keynote Title: Prospecting fluorine-doped graphene in photodynamic therapy
Event
name -2ndEdition of International Cancer and Precision Oncology Conference
Photodynamic
therapy (PDT) is gaining momentum as a precise and minimally invasive cancer
treatment. Prof. Morais introduces a novel class of fluorine-doped graphene
quantum dots (F@GQDs) designed to overcome key limitations in conventional PDT
materials.
π Key Highlights
πΉ Development of halogen-decorated graphene quantum
dots
πΉ Particle size below 3 nm with ~2% fluorine doping
πΉ Enhanced water solubility & improved
biocompatibility
πΉ Strong green fluorescence with >13% quantum
yield
πΉ Proven in vitro photodynamic activity
These
advancements mark an important step toward safer, more efficient
nanomaterial-based cancer therapies.
