Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has emerged as a promising minimally invasive approach for treating cancer. During ICPOC 2026, Professor Paulo Cesar De Morais will present innovative research on fluorine-doped graphene quantum dots (F@GQDs) and their potential to enhance the effectiveness of photodynamic therapy.

This presentation focuses on overcoming key challenges associated with conventional graphene quantum dots, including limited singlet oxygen quantum yield, poor water solubility, and biocompatibility.
